PRACTITIONER CASE CONSULTATIONS

Embodied Support for Therapists, Body Workers and Somatic Practitioners

Are you curious about how somatic movement practices can help to deepen and expand your work with clients? My intention in these consultations is to help you to experience and understand how movement awareness and specific movement skills and techniques can help to restore qualities of connection, openness and ease for those you are working with.

Between 60 and 80 percent of our communication is nonverbal - spoken in the bodily languages of movement and touch - including conscious and unconscious movements, gestures, postures, and facial expressions. Movement is our first and most primal language, the one that we share with all other beings.

Somatic Movement Therapy is a way to refine perceptual, kinesthetic, proprioceptive, and interoceptive sensitivity that supports homeostasis, co-regulation, and neuroplasticity. By including movement in our work we can support clients in attending to the sensations that lie beneath their feelings and uncovering unconscious and habitual physiological responses to those feelings. Somatic movement practices help clients develop more adaptability with challenging bodily sensations and strong emotions, which helps them gain access to greater resilience.

I am offering trauma-informed case consultations in embodied, movement-based support for your work with clients. We can focus on specific case questions, or on more general approaches to integrating movement into your practice regardless of your own movement experience.
