My dear friend, the brilliant actress Evangeline Johns, sent me this link. My daughter had already seen it. Have you?

dancing with Amado
Spent another wonderful day at Little Brook Farm in Old Chatham working with the drill team and the lovely Mustang Amado and the brilliant Summer Brennan. If everything goes as well as it has been, we will perform with him at the Extreme Mustang Makeover event in August!
I am not a fan of anything extreme when it comes to horses, and I do not think that Mustangs need any kind of makeover. Nevertheless, watching Summer gentle this boy has been incredibly inspiring. Her work with him has been gradual, caring and smart.
Bringing dancers into this event may shake things up a bit! I hope so.

summer movement class
Authentic Movement is a contemplative movement practice that nourishes creativity and imagination through a practice of intuitive and spontaneous movement. Movers allow themselves “to be moved” following whatever impulses (for both movement and stillness) arise from the body. The teacher acts as a compassionate witness, affirming and giving meaning to the experience of the mover.
The class also include SourceWork – guided somatic meditations for deepening awareness and discovering new movement possibilities – as well as embodied writing and drawing practice.
This class is perfect for those who are seeking to deepen their creativity and connect to the body in a way that encourages both profound listening and improvisational ways of living more fully in the body. It is also appropriate for therapists and coaches who wish to bring a more embodied consciousness to their practice.
Series of four classes Wednesday evenings at my studio in Sharon, CT,

the poetry angel
Photo: Jeffrey Anderson of Paola Styron in FLIGHT
My friend, the beautiful dancer and aerialist Paola Styron sends me poems. This is her latest gift. She is the one who took me deeper into Rumi and Hafiz and whose dancing is like poetry – a thing of essential wonder and mystery.
Horses at Midnight Without a Moon by Jack Gilbert
Our heart wanders lost in the dark woods. Our dream wrestles in the castle of doubt. But there's music in us. Hope is pushed down but the angel flies up again taking us with her. The summer mornings begin inch by inch while we sleep, and walk with us later as long-legged beauty through the dirty streets. It is no surprise that danger and suffering surround us. What astonishes is the singing. We know the horses are there in the dark meadow because we can smell them, can hear them breathing. Our spirit persists like a man struggling through the frozen valley who suddenly smells flowers and realizes the snow is melting out of sight on top of the mountain, knows that spring has begun.
